Unboxing+Review: Make Up Eraser
Hello everyone! As promised, I'm here with some interesting post for you all. This is one of the product that instantly catches my attention. I've first heard of this product from a celebrity's instagram page. But with that I'm very skeptical about the product, I mean we all know they got paid to post a picture of themselves and the product. So even though it catches my attention, my skepticism won. Until one day, one of the beauty guru in youtube has a review on it. And that's when I (and Valerie) decided to get it. Now now, let us get to the point.......
The Make Up Eraser promises:
"Remove your makeup with just water
Waterproof mascara removed in seconds
All natural, no chemicals
Machine washable, no stains remain
Soft and promotes healthy skin"
But before we go to the product itself, let us talk about the packaging
I love the thoughtfulness of the box it came in, its an eraser
(Get it? makeup ERASER)
I mean, how very thoughtful and creative is that?
Opening the box, the first thing that I notice is that
The towel is PINK!!!
(Though I already know that when I ordered it)
PINK, can you believe it?
With my obsession with the color pink
This product automatically won my heart
But to be honest, I think they chose pink
to keep up with the "eraser" theme
(FYI: they offer the towel in black now)
Aside from me obsessing over the pinkiness
The product came with an instruction card
1. Wash: Wash "eraser" prior to first erase
2. Wet: Wet portion of MakeUp Eraser...Drenched wet
3. Erase: Gently rub off makeup in a circular motion
4. Wash: Wash MakeUp Eraser as needed
The towel has 2 different sides, the "longer" side and the "shorter" side
Which at first I couldn't tell, but having a closer look at it
You could clearly see tell the difference between the two
[Incase you can't tell, the left is the "long" side
Trick: the tag is on the "long" side]
The "shorter" side is meant to take of your make up
while the "longer" side is meant to exfoliate

As I was kindda in a hurry, I put on a quick, but heavy, makeup on. Then I wet one side of the towel with warm water and gently rubbed in circular motion, as suggested, to wipe of the make up on the left side. I have to say, at first I was very fascinated with the wonderful job it did. The face makeup come off easily with just a soft rub to the face but as I look more closely, I notice that the mascara was still there. Also I could still see the glitter from from my eyeshadow as well. It took more effort to rub off the mascara but in the end it does come off. As for my glittery eyeshadow, I completely give up on it. No matter how hard I try, I could still see the glitter in my face.
As I am a curious person, I wonder if the cold [when I said cold, I mean a little cooler than room temperature] temperature water would work as well as the warm water. So I wet the other side of the towel with cold temperature water and once again gently rubbed in circular motion, but this time on the right side. I am again faced the same problem with the mascara and the eyeshadow. I also find its harder to rub of the mascara this time around.
After the use I wash the cloth with hand soap to clean off the makeup residue. The makeup come off easily from the soft scrub I did. However, once a week I throw it in the washer for deeper cleaning. With that, I believe it should keep the cloth clean.
Overall, I'm satisfied with this product. It didn't do an amazing job, but it did the job. But I gotta say, its way more convenient that the traditional cleansing wipes. Imagine yourself travelling, you only need to bring this one cloth instead of a bunch of cottons and a cleansing oil/water. I mean even if you use the makeup remover wipes, you still need to bring the whole pack. Not to mention, its heavier and it might accidentally dry out. But still, if I'm at home I would prefer using the makeup remover. I'm the type of person who is too lazy to wash the cloth after every use, I would rather throw the cotton away. Plus, now a day there's this type of makeup remover where you don't even need to use cotton.
Let us rewind back to the promise this makeup eraser gave us:
Remove your makeup with just water
Check
Waterproof mascara removed in seconds
Nope
All natural, no chemicals
I guess? I have no idea on its production process
Machine washable, no stains remain
I hand wash it and it came out spotless, so I guess that apply to machine washing as well
Soft and promotes healthy skin
Soft, yes.
Promotes healthy skin, I don't see how
Well well, rating from its promise I would only give it a 2.5 out of 5. [1 point for removing makeup with just water and half a point to the natural part, machine washable, and to the softness]. But then again all I really care about is the removing the makeup part (including mascara), so personally I would give this a 4. Because to be fair, normally we all use a separate eye remover in addition to the makeup remover. Plus, sometimes normal remover still leaves shimmer on my face as well. And again, this is not my everyday makeup look. I would normally put way less make up on than this. Regardless, it still does not justify the fact that it can't wipe away the mascara and the shimmer or the fact that you have to wash it after ever use.
