Get Ready With Me: Beach Day

Sunday, July 26, 2015 0 Comments A+ a-

It's officially summer!
(Although I'm not so sure I'm loving the super hot and humid weather here.)
You might be thinking, psst, it's officially been so for quite some time already actually.
BUT.. well, I'm just going to rephrase what I said, then:
It's officially summer for this blog!
Because, today, I'm taking you all to the beach with me. ;)

Location

The place y'all've just seen in the video is called:
'Hap Mun' Bay, or more colloquially known as, Half Moon Bay.
It's located on one of the many outlying islands around Sai Kung, Hong Kong.
The boat ride took only about 15 minutes, and the roundtrip ticket fee was $30 per person.
Note: We went on a Sunday afternoon and the beach was packed.
So if you're planning to go there on weekends, I highly suggest you get there early.

Unfortunately for me and my friends, the weather on the day went was very cloudy and gloomy. It was lightly drizzling then stopping and drizzling and stopping. And even if it wasn't raining, it wasn't hot enough for me to want to jump into sea water, and then have to queue up for a shower afterwards. So my friends and I just relaxed on the beach and enjoyed a couple of games of Monopoly Deal and beer and some very good alcoholic strawberry-and-kiwi drink which I forgot what it's called. But I promise to snap a photo of it and share it with you the next time I get my hands on it, so stay tuned for that on my Instagram and Facebook page. ;)

After a couple of hours, we took the boat back ashore and enjoyed some Thai food at a little restaurant called 'Moon Thai' (滿泰小食). As someone who grew up eating a lot of authentic Thai food in Thailand, I was naturally dubious of Thai food outside of the land. But the food here was unexpectedly good. I approve. So if you're in Sai Kung and you suddenly crave Thai food, definitely give Moon Thai a try.

After dinner, we had another session of traditional Chinese desserts and then we went our separate ways to get ready for the start of another new week.

That's it for my sweet little Sunday escape to the beach last week.
Have you been in Half Moon Bay/Hap Mun Bay?
If yes, how did you like it? If no, do you want to go?
Also, do you have any favourite beaches in Hong Kong?
Let me know the comments below,
because little me here still hasn't gotten enough of beaches yet.

xx
