M·A·C Cosmetics Haul
If you have been following Valerie either from this blog, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or even Twitter, you would know that a group of friends from Thailand flew to Hong Kong to celebrate her birthday. Needless to say I’m one of those crazy friends, in fact I’m the mastermind of this whole trip (nope, not taking credit or anything). And once in Hong Kong you can’t help yourself but SHOP, you just can’t, trust me. So hence, my MAC cosmetics haul from Hong Kong.
I first pick up my go-to pink lipstick, Fanfare. Fanfare to me is like an unsung hero, where nobody knew about it but it gives you the perfect go-to everyday look. I would say that Fanfare is a warm mid-tone pink, but as I have been doing some research people like to describe it as salmon pink with a hint of coral. Fanfare has a cremesheen finish which means it is creamy, has good pigmentation, and give you a slight gloss.
Moving on I have re-stumble upon my next purchase, the All That Glitters eyeshadow. I have wanted this a few years back, but never really let myself get it. But Hong Kong seems to have rubbed itself on me, so here it is. All that glitters is a beige with gold pearl color, according to MAC itself, which I do not disagree at all. It is perfect for an all-over lid everyday look and as mention by many a perfect highlighter as well. All that glitters apply easily, easy to blend, and is very highly pigmented.
The last thing I got was quite a challenge. I tried on 4 different shades of the foundation powder (2 from the Studio Fixed line and 2 from the Lightful Marine Bright Formula) and ended up with this wonderful NC42 Mac Lightful Marine Bright Formula Foundation Powder. I normally use the Studio Fixed NC35, but decided to change to the lightful formula. As the name suggest the lightful formula gives you the lighter feel and last longer than the studio fixed line. However, the lightful formula is more expensive, its refill already cost more than the normal studio fixed powder itself and this does not even include the initial purchase of getting the compact case. Also be aware that it does not has same shade as the normal line, so you better try it at the counter before buying it.
Before we say goodbye, I would like to give a small shout-out to Carol, the beauty advisor from Mac Cosmetics in SOGO Causeway Bay . I don’t know if its just me, but I felt like most – not all, but most – of the beauty advisor in MAC are very snobbish. So once I meet a really nice BA from MAC, I tend to be very impress. Carol, the BA I was talking about, works in SOGO Causeway Bay branch. She was very helpful and let us all try the products we were interested in. So if you ever get to visit Hong Kong and wanted to get some MAC cosmetics, I definitely recommend to get it from there.
So that's it, my MAC haul from Hong Kong. Have you guys ever try any of the product I got? Leave me a comment below to tell me how you feel about it.
